New-York, July 1769. : Mr. Printer, I send you the inclosed copy of a printed circular letter, and the articles of a certain society of dissenters in this city, which I request you to insert in your newspaper, that the world may be convinced of the truth,
Proposing the formation of societies by religious dissenters to counteract the overwhelming Episcopalian influence in New York and elsewhere. Includes text of a circular letter dated "New-York, May the 30th, 1769." and signed "Signed by order of the committee of correspondence. John M'Kesson, secry."; followed by the articles of a society of dissenters, organized by Peter Van Brugh Livingston and thirteen others. Printed in four columns. New-York Historical copy imperfect: closely trimmed at top, with slight loss of border. lower portion of the right-hand column of text clipped and lacking.
