Verse of forty-two lines; first line: Mourn, Yankey, mourn, the dreaded loss deplore. The New-York Historical Society copy is dated in a contemporary hand: New York, July 26th, 1774 P.M. (probably in reference to Peggy Mullin [i.e. Mullen?], the subject of the poem's closing verses, a Philadelphia tavern owner and mother of Captain Robert Mullen of the Continental Marines).
