Description
The minutes record the donation by Richard Varick DeWitt of the collection of maps made by his father, Simeon DeWitt, "to be bound in an atlas and denominated the DeWitt Atlas". These are the surveys made by George Washington's geographers, Robert Erskine and Simon DeWitt, during the Revolutionary War.
