Description
Drawing: Graphite, ink and watercolor on paper; 5 3/4 x 6 1/8 in. A Union officer, [possibly Dr. A. Heger] holding a fan, asks a prisoner, holding two fans, their price. Officer: 'Well Johnny Reb whats the price of fans.' Prisoner: 'Forty cents a peice, or three for one dollar.'
Note
Point Lookout Album, Page 39. Officer featured in drawing may be Dr. A. Heger, who was the medical director of the Point Lookout Prison. Method of identifying figure is unknown.
