Description
Drawing: Graphite, ink and watercolor on paper; 5 5/8 x 6 1/4 in. A peddler sits behind a fruit and vegetable stand. A barefoot prisoner approaches, holding a comb in his outstretched hand. Apple stand is labeled 'Appels Onions & Potators' Prisoner: 'Mr. How many apples will you give me for this fine tooth comb, I've not used it much.' Peddler: 'Go to the Devil with your louse trap and make good use of it, I don't want it.'
