Note
Nathaniel Prentice (or Prentiss) Banks (January 30, 1816 - September 1, 1894) was a Union Major General during the American Civil. He also served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts' 5th, 6th, and 7th congressional districts, as the 25th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and, just prior to the war, as the 24th Governor of Massachusetts.
