Legal briefs from an October 21, 1676 lawsuit between John Bowne, John Tilton, and Samuel Spicer, plaintiffs, and William Luker, defendant; the plaintiffs charge that Luker abandoned his blind and "greatly distracted" wife to their care and expense and ask the court to order him to provide for his wife's care; in response, Luker charges that Bowne hired him at 3 shillings/day and now owes Luker £3 and 3 shillings.
